I’ve had an extremely frustrating experience at this dealership and would not recommend buying a car from here. I visited the dealership and spoke with Noah about pricing, and I was promised to receive a follow-up with updated pricing, which never came. I was told it could be adjusted, but that would require me to come back in. After coming in again, I was assured by Serafin that I’d receive the revised pricing the same day. Unfortunately, that never happened either. Later, I was told that the manager wasn’t sending out the pricing because another customer was coming in the next day. After that, Angel reached out to check in, and again I mentioned I hadn’t received the original pricing yet. When I finally did get the pricing, both Noah and Angel explained it was due to new tariffs, but that didn’t make sense since I had never received the initial quote to compare it to. When I mentioned this, Angel offered to have the manager honor the original price, but by that point, I was already extremely frustrated. Now, after all this back-and-forth, I’ve been told the pricing is "aggressive" and can’t be honored. The lack of communication, unfulfilled promises, and constant delays have made for a very disappointing experience. I asked Noah to have a manager to reach out regarding the negative experience and to no surprise I never heard back.

Scheduled test drive for a 2023 Tucson hybrid. After driving an hour to get there,we are told that they have a policy of not letting people test drive evs/hybrid they might not purchase. When asked about how we're supposed to decide if this is the car we wanted without driving it, apparently we should just know from research. They don't want to add miles. The salesperson who we were supposed to meet was out on a test drive with another customer. Go figure! Called corporate customer service they said no such policy exists. Spent over 2 hours total and didn't get to test drive the vehicle. They needed to be up front when we called to schedule. The previous week too when we'd called to schedule they didn't mention this. The dealership is happy to add 5-6k markups but won't let you test drive unless you're guaranteed to purchase the vehicle that day? Just ridiculous.

Nothing unusual there but the staff was very easy to be with, again not trying to only ‘sell’ or validate their product but make sure I was taken care of. I’m very happy overall and actually HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Dealership due to the people. The vehicle I drove away in was the KONA Crossover. Here are the notes: -They tried to pocket $2,000 in rebates I was due. The service manager told me that not everyone knows about the rebates, so they don't include them in the sales price. -They initially offered me an interest rate of 1.9% (Hyundai's going rate at the time). When I demanded my rebates, they gave them to me, but then they jacked up the interest rate to 3.5% without telling me. This (not so coincidentally) made the monthly payment exactly the same as me not taking the rebates and paying 1.9%. -The sales manager told me that they had to make their money one way or another, so I could either take the rebates and pay a higher interest rate or I could forget about the rebates and pay the lower interest rate. He also said that I could take the higher interest rate and refinance after four months. If I refinanced before four months, I would forfeit all rebates I was given. -I reviewed the sales contract. He pointed out the part about prepayment. There was no language in the contract about a prepayment penalty. The sales manager assured me that I had to keep the loan for a total of four months. -I called Hyundai Motor Finance and they had no idea what I was talking about with regards to a prepayment penalty. They said I did not have to keep it for any period of time, and it was fairly common for people to refinance within days of making their purchase. -Searching through Yelp reviews, I discovered I'm not the only person who they have lied to about needing to keep the contract for four months. -Speaking of Yelp, Hyundai of Gilroy's Yelp page is flagged with a suspicious activity warning. Their employees posted dozens of five star reviews (all on the same date from the same IP address) to get a decent Yelp rating. Yelp saw through this and segregated the suspicious reviews. -They have failed to provide an owner's manual. Despite me requesting one over a dozen times over the course of almost six months, I have yet to receive a manual (except one that was more than two years old) or any kind of estimated timeframe of when I would get one...meaning they're not going to provide it.

Rudy doesn’t even know the warranty’s for the company he works for, we go in to talk about the warranty for my car. The paint job is not done well. On top of the car it’s peeling and we took it to multiple paint shops and they all told us this was a bad paint job from Hyundai( manfracture defect) so we take it and Rudy kept telling us over and over there’s no paint warranty, and we knew there was and there is 3 years 36,000 miles. Very rude person. I also had called back couple days later and told him who I was and saying I wanted to be transferred to service department. And the Hangs up. ( I’ll give Rudy benefit of the doubt and say call disconnected. I call again and someone else answered and I get transfers just fine. I had to call Hyundai directly and they told me yes there was Hyundai warranty for paint. And they set up the appointment to have the warranty company look at it. So I take it on Tuesday March 9, the service department dude took the pictures and said he would give us an update on it next week on the 16. Still haven’t received no call from him or anyone in Hyundai of gilroy. I had to call directly with Hyundai. I already reported Rudy directly with Hyundai. Very disappointed with this new owner ship.

My faith in the honesty and expertise of automotive service took a huge leap forward today with my experience at South County Hyundai. My wife and I purchased our 2013 Tucson at the dealership after a three year lease and have been happy with the car and the service on it. In a parking lot this week, a pick-up truck scraped the side of my vehicle while trying to make it into an adjacent space. I was in my car at the time. Initially I was pretty upset, not because of the size of the ding, but what I thought would be the hassle of having a body shop have to fix it, keeping me without this car for at least a few days. My wife suggested [and very wisely so] to go to South County Hyundai to get their recommendation on where to get it fixed. I encountered Michael Widergren at the service desk, who listened to my story and then went out with me to look at the "ding". He had obviously looked at such scrapes lots of times before, and assured me that what was my biggest concern about the scrape was not a big deal. He took care of the problem in less than a half hour and I was on my way, simply amazed and impressed with the resolution of my problem. No visit needed to a body shop! Michael, thanks for your enthusiasm and help. I'll be back!
